Taconic Parkway Stop Leads To Drug Possession Charge For Westchester Man

A Westchester man has been charged with drug possession following a traffic stop on the Taconic Parkway, police say.

Yorktown Police say they arrested a man following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway southbound on the ramp from Route 202 on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Yorktown Police say they initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver failing to keep right on the Taconic State Parkway southbound on the ramp from Route 202 on Saturday, Aug. 10 around 8 a.m.

The driver, identified as Abraham Kiryako, 30, of Yonkers, was found to be in possession of an unspecified illicit substance, police say.

Kiryako was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and failure to keep right, a violation. He was given a ticket and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Sept. 19.
